Hi, everyone!  Sorry it has been so long since we updated the blog.  We had a great Thanksgiving and Christmas season and hope you did too.  Cody is 17 weeks old now — where does the time go?  Here are some photos we’ve taken over the last couple of months.  Give them just a minute if it takes them a bit to load.  Happy new year from all of us to all of you!

Sorry we haven’t blogged more…we’ve been busy!!!  

He was two or three days old in these pictures.

Casey lost his first tooth today!  It had become very loose, and he was determined that it would come out today.  (He asked his grandma Linda and me to pull it but we both declined.)  He wiggled and moved and pushed and pulled until finally it came out.  We were all very excited with much celebration, high fives, and video-taking all around.

According to Casey, here are the three funniest things that have happened since Cody has been home. 

Warning:  if discussions of poop and related body functions aren’t for you, stop reading now!  (To a 7-year-old, nothing is funnier than poop.)

This is what happened, in Casey’s words as told to his mom.

1. Cody pooped on Mama when she was changing his diaper.   One time Cody had a heavy diaper.  So we decided to change it.  (But Casey didn’t get to see it because he was asleep.  It was nighttime for Casey.)  Mama and Daddy were changing his diaper then SPLAT!  Mama saw something brown on her hand.  She washed it off and asked Cody if he would not do that again. 
2. Cody peed on Mommy and Casey.  Once upon a time Cody was wet.  And Mama went to change his diaper and then….KABLOOEY!!  Pee came flying in the air.  He let it free at last!  It got Mama on her arm.  It got Casey on his leg and wrist.  We both had to wash it off.  Now Casey puts up an umbrella whenever Mommy changes Cody’s diapers. 
3. Cody peed all over Grandma’s pants.  Grandma Linda was freaked out because she felt something warm and looked where it felt warm and it was darker than all the other spaces on her pants.  Casey laughed and laughed.

We got to bring Cody home at about 12:45 this afternoon!  He’s already eaten and had a change of clothes – I won’t go into the reason for that!  Anyway, everyone is doing fine.  One of the dogs is a little confused, the other just sniffed him and went back and laid down in her spot.

 Casey is going to be so pumped that his brother is finally home!  He’s still at school so he doesn’t know for sure yet, but he knew that it was likely.

The pediatrician came in this afternoon while I was with Cody and said that if he behaves himself tonight and keeps his breathing normal that he should be able to come home tomorrow.  His respiration rates were good most of the day and he handled the new formula really well, so it looks like that was most likely the source of the problem.  The Dr. talked to the radiologist and the x-rays didn’t show anything and all the blood work was normal.

Cody is eating really well – Casey and I stopped by the nursery after dropping Jennifer off at the parent room at St. Edward and got to feed and burp him one more time today.  They didn’t even have him plugged into his monitors when Casey and I got there.  They plugged them back in before we left and his numbers looked great.

So, hopefully, Cody will get to come home tomorrow!  I’ll let everyone know for sure after we know for sure!
